Property Summary

An attractive double fronted detached family home built in 2013, with four double bedrooms, spacious kitchen/diner and double aspect sitting room opening out onto the garden. Offered with no onward chain.

The property, in the popular village of Kilmersdon, also benefits from stunning country views and is conveniently located between Frome (8.2 miles), Bath (11.9 miles/) and Wells (13 miles).

The vendor says: “We moved into the house as the first owners in 2014. It forms part of a small development of 9 properties in the centre of Kilmersdon village. As a home the house is very well designed, easy to live in and look after. We love the spacious sitting room which we have enhanced with a log burner in a Bath stone-effect surround and built-in bookcases and cupboards on either side of it. The sitting room is large enough to accommodate all the family when they come to visit, yet it also feels really cosy on a winter’s evening with the log burner on. The kitchen/diner is a lovely light and airy room with two windows with countryside views. There is plenty of useful storage in the kitchen and utility units and we especially like the larder fridge and large freezer unit. The house also benefits from a very efficient solar panel on the roof which tops up the hot water on sunny days which is often sufficient for us to use without additional heating.”

Kilmersdon village has a lively community feel with a local pub, village hall and good primary school. The village hall hosts various events and local meetings throughout the year, including an annual Village Day celebration.

“The local Jolliffe Arms serves excellent meals and The Talbot Inn in Mells is a brilliant gastropub , only a few minutes’ drive away. Also close by is Babington House (2 miles away) – a mellow country club with fabulous food and stunning grounds. There are numerous country walks from our front door, and the nearby Colliers Way cycle path extends 18.5 miles from Limpley Stoke to Frome. Great Elm village is 5.2 miles away, one of our favourite places to walk by the river. Bath, Wells and Frome are all very accessible too – delightful places to visit and quite different in character.”
