Property Summary
A four bedroom, three bathroom modern semi-detached town house plus the benefit of a ground floor cloakroom with shower, with garden, garage, and parking, located just off Pulteney Gardens within 0.3-mile flat walk of Bath Spa station.
“It was the brilliant location with a short flat walk into the centre of Bath and to the railway station that immediately appealed to us. The light, airy layout with the connection between the house and the garden, the garage and parking – rarely available in the middle of town, were further benefits,” say the vendors.
“The house is one of eleven others and there are two apartments in this friendly development. The house is near the canal and allotments, so even though you are in central Bath it is very easy to go out on beautiful walks along the canal, or to cycle to Bradford-on-Avon or head off to the stunning skyline walk around Bath and take in the incredible views of the Georgian city.”
“On the ground floor there is a hall and study overlooking the bank to the canal. A downstairs cloakroom which has a full-size shower and there is space for a washing machine and drier on this floor too. The kitchen/orangery is our favourite room in the house: it is so light and spacious. There is an electric double oven cooker and hob, water softener, light coloured kitchen units with quartz worktop and porcelain tiles on the floor. The whole room is light and serene, and we spend most of our time here. The kitchen leads out to the orangery, which has a glass lantern roof and bi-fold doors, with the benefit of a single slave door. The bi-fold doors cover the whole width of the house which open out onto the back garden. We have a useful boot room off the orangery for coats, shoes and boots and the back door leads directly onto the driveway which makes it fantastic for bringing shopping straight to the house. From the driveway and garage the back garden is accessed through a wrought iron gate. The house is very well designed, practical as well as beautiful.”
“Upstairs a large first floor drawing room runs the whole width of the house and faces towards the front; it is a perfect space for entertaining. This floor has a family bathroom and two double bedrooms, one currently used as a second study. On the second floor there are two bedrooms, one of these is the Master bedroom. This is a very generous sized room, with a large en suite, with bath, large shower, and two wash basins. The other bedroom has a generous en suite with full-sized shower.
“The garden is low maintenance, with trees and artificial grass, it is well enclosed for privacy and very safe for children and pets. The garden is fabulous sun trap in late spring and summer. There is a double-entrance shed, ideal for storage, single garage, and off-street parking – it is possible to park three cars here. There is an excellent sense of community here: all the owners of the houses in Rennie Close are directors of the Management Company; we meet every six months and usually have a social get together afterwards.”
“This has been a very easy house to live in, low maintenance, efficient to heat, well insulated with double glazing, and is very light and spacious. We are always popping into the centre of town for a coffee, and Waitrose is a flat walk away. There are lots of excellent schools nearby, including Widcombe Primary school and King Edward’s. For rugby lovers, it is only 0.5 miles to the ground. The Georgian Theatre Royal is 0.7 miles away and Thermae Spa 0.6 miles away, and Bath has a myriad of museums, galleries , restaurants, and bars that are easy to walk to from here. If you walk up Widcombe Hill, there are many beautiful country walks and incredible views over Bath. We have been very fortunate to live here.”
