Property Summary

A two bedroom period end of terrace peacefully located in the highly sought after village of Colerne with stunning views over the Box valley, gardens and parking for up to three cars, 7.5 miles from the centre of Georgian Bath.

The vendors say: “This house is the last one of three houses down a lane which is off the Bath Road in the centre of Colerne village. It is very quiet down here as there is no passing traffic, yet we can easily walk to all the village amenities and Colerne offers so much more than most villages! There is plenty of parking for at least three cars in our front garden, and in Colerne that is a rarity! It has a long front garden with a lawn, a topiary box bear, vegetable garden and apple and pear trees at the bottom. Through the front door of the house is a small porched area and up the steps is a lovely sitting room with exposed Cotswold stone wall and views over the front garden and down the Box valley to Rudloe, Box and Bathford. The dining room is very cosy in winter and has a log burning stove. The beamed kitchen is long and was renovated two years ago; it has views of the back patio, double arbour, wall with hanging baskets and pyracantha. Next door to this is an office with french doors out to the back patio. Beyond the patio is a greenhouse and workshops and more storage. Upstairs there is a large landing, and the principal bedroom is next to the bathroom which has a bath with a shower. Another stairway leads up to the top bedroom which has incredible views right over to Westbury and the White Horse.”

“Colerne is a wonderful village with two traditional Cotswold country pubs: ‘The Fox and Hounds’ and ‘The Six Bells’. There are also two clubs – the Liberal and the Constitutional clubs. The village has a real sense of community with an active village hall, a newsagent, post office, village shop, florists, hairdressers and café. The primary school has a ‘Good’ Ofsted report and is well regarded. There are good secondary school transport links from the village and a car share scheme. The village has a football and rugby club and a children's play park and friendly baby group. Lucknam Park, the Georgian country house hotel and spa, is 1.6 miles away and the perfect place for a special meal. There are amazing country walks around the whole valley – a favourite one is down the hill cutting back to Ford, ending up in the White Hart there, which serves excellent food. You can also walk down to Box and as far as Bradford-on-Avon following the river and ‘The Peacock Trail’ goes to Corsham. The cycling round here is brilliant too. There are good road links with the M4 nearby, as well as railway stations at Bath or Chippenham with direct links to London.”

“We will be very sad to leave this unique home with such lovely views, gardens and parking in this friendly village but after twenty two years enjoying this house it is now time to move on.”
