The vendor says: “The cinema/games room and large garden big enough for the boys to play football in make this house very attractive. My favourite room in the house is the living room which is lovely, sunny and bright, overlooks the garden and is a very tranquil place. The kitchen leads into the dining room and has been the scene of many family parties: we can seat eight comfortably here, and the views from the dining room are stunning. The cinema/games room has also been brilliant for parties over the years –we have celebrated Christmas, Halloween, and birthdays here. The house is perfect for entertaining, and we have had a very sociable time.”
“Downstairs the snug has been a useful room for the boys to do their homework in. There is a separate utility room and cloakroom and a large and welcoming hall.”
“Upstairs the master bedroom, which is a large double room with king size bed, overlooks the fields towards Upton Cheyney and Lansdown. There is a walk-in wardrobe and an en suite with shower. The eaves on both sides are cupboards, for storage. There are three other double bedrooms, two overlooking the garden and one overlooking the fields, and one single bedroom. The family bathroom has a bath and separate shower.”
“The house benefits from a lot of storage: there is a loft area above the cinema room, and a long cupboard there where we put coats and the water softener.”
“French doors lead out from the sitting room into the garden as does the back door. There is a large patio area and a long garden which has been perfect for football matches. There are flower beds, trees and shrubs as well. We have a large shed for garden equipment and the timber and glass home office is brilliant. Half of it is used for a gym. It is a very bright, sunny space, very warm in winter as it is really well insulated, yet cool in summer. It is a great place in which to work: there are no distractions, and you can close the door and leave work behind you to come home at the end of the day.”
“At the front a drive leads up to the paved area with parking for up to six cars. We can walk to the Wick primary school (0.8 miles away), which has a good Ofsted rating and Wick nursery school (0.4 miles away) from here. Golden Valley Nature Reserve is 0.5 miles away and a brilliant place to take the dogs for a walk. The village is very friendly with a great community. There is a Christmas Fayre and Bonfire Night. There are some local shops: a café, general store, hairdressers, and a chip shop. The Rose and Crown pub is within walking distance. Nearby Blue Lodge was once the home of Black Beauty author Anna Sewell and Tracy Park on the Bath Road is a beautiful golf club and wedding venue.”
“Wick is an excellent location. Bath is only 6.2 miles away and Bristol is 8.7 miles. M4 is very accessible. We really have enjoyed the best of all worlds here, living in a friendly village in a house perfect for family life and entertaining, yet close to two such thriving cities.”
