Five bedroom spacious semi-detached house with beautiful country views

Property Summary

Five bedroom spacious semi-detached house, with beautiful country views, quietly located down a country lane in the heart of desirable Norton St Philip, just 7.7 miles from Georgian Bath.

“The quiet location right in the centre of Norton St Philip really appealed to us when we moved here,” the vendor says. “The house is very spacious with five bedrooms; four of these are double bedrooms and the other is a single which we use as an office. The master has lovely views over the fields towards Faulkland. There is also a family bathroom on this floor.”

“Downstairs, we have reconfigured the house so that now there is a large kitchen/diner, which is our favourite room. It is a great family space for eating and entertaining and we spend most of our time in here. From here double doors lead out onto a decking area perfect for catching the morning sunshine and then on into the back garden. There is a large sitting room which also has double doors opening up to another decking area at the side of the house with gorgeous views. A playroom, downstairs WC and utility room complete the downstairs.”

“Outside there is a gravel drive with off road parking for up to six cars, and plenty of space for a garage if you wanted to build one. There is a good sized side garden flowing round to the large back garden, all bordering fields, so we really feel we are right in the country here.”

“One of the things we enjoy most about Norton St Philip is Churchmead, which is behind the seven hundred year old pub, the George Inn. It is a lovely space for the kids and many village events happen here – the Fireworks, the Fete and village cricket matches. We have often rented the pavilion for kid’s parties which have been great fun. There is a brilliant Co-op in the village and two excellent pubs, the George and the Fleur de Lys, both a six minute walk away. The primary school has pre-school to Year 4 children and has a ‘Good’ ofsted rating. My son catches the bus to senior school in Bath. There is a frequent service to Bath Spa station, and also to Frome in the other direction.”

“There are many beautiful country walks around here. The closest one is around the ponds at the back of the Fortescue Estate, where we often take the dog. Farleigh Road Farm shop is nearby and great for local produce and lunches. Yet, it is only 7.7 miles into the centre of Bath, with all its fabulous bars, restaurants, galleries, unique shops and theatres and with Bath Spa Station providing direct access to London Paddington in about 80 minutes. It has been a brilliant home, very quiet with views over fields, and in a thriving village and also with really fast access to the city.”
