Seventeenth century unlisted house on three floors with four double bedrooms, two reception rooms and a one bedroom separate annexe.

Property Summary

Located near the ancient church of All Saints, Corston, this seventeenth century unlisted house on three floors with four double bedrooms, two reception rooms and a one bedroom separate annexe, just 3.6 miles from the centre of Bath, has much to offer.
“The size and flexibility of the space, and the potential of the annexe made this house very attractive when we bought it,” says the vendor. “Downstairs there are two reception rooms to the front of the house. The main sitting room has a working fireplace and is a very cosy space to relax in. The smaller reception room has a period fireplace and we use it as an office. Both reception rooms have double glazing; it is a busy road during rush hour only but is quiet during the day and at weekends. The kitchen is a large room, leading into the brick built garden room where we have the dining room table and a sofa. It is a lovely sunny spot to sit in and catch up on the family’s news, while looking out over the garden. There is a useful utility room, which has plenty of space for all the school kit, coats and boots. In addition, there is a downstairs cloakroom.”
“Upstairs is a landing with wooden floors, two double bedrooms, the family bathroom with roll top bath and a separate cloakroom. On the third floor there are two more bedrooms and a walk in attic space.”
“There is parking for two/three cars at the front of the house. The workshop has electricity and is currently in working use by my son who is an art student. The two storey stone built annexe has been decorated very nicely as a one bedroom apartment with views over to the church, and a kitchen/sitting room/dining room and is ideal for a holiday let, for an older relative or for teenage children, or home office.”
“There is a patio outside the kitchen where we have sofas and a dining room table. The garden is raised up with a pond and two stone built sheds. The previous owner was a keen gardener and had a large fruit and vegetable patch on the right hand side. We have the garden largely laid to lawn with borders.”
“Corston is a very friendly, inclusive village. There is a little shop and post office, and the Globe pub is 0.4 miles away and has good food. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside, and often walk through the fields to Bath Spa University and the gardens which were originally laid out by Lancelot Capability Brown and later by Humphrey Repton. Newton St Loe farm shop is 0.8 miles away. The food there is brilliant, and the views are amazing. The Pig, Bath is 4.1 miles away – a mellow country house hotel with excellent local food and pretty gardens. It is only 4.1 miles to Bath Spa railway station with trains to London in 75 minutes, and there are bus services into Bath and Bristol from the Globe pub. Bristol airport is 14.7 miles away and Bristol city centre is 8.8 miles away. We have been very lucky to live in such a flexible house in such a charming country village, but with such good communications to the world heritage city of Bath and vibrant Bristol.”
